We had decided to have someone prepare our taxes for the first time this year (2017), because we felt they were more complicated than we wanted to tackle ourselves. Unfortunately, our first attempt at that went sour, and the CPA that we had hired made a few fairly severe mistakes. When we asked him to correct those mistakes, he made more mistakes by not following the instructions the IRS gave for reconciliation, so we decided we were done, and we needed to find someone we could trust to get it done correctly. We approached Jennifer with the problem we were facing, and felt more confident when we knew more than one person was looking everything over, and that there was specific expertise in the area we were having trouble. We sent in the correction (with about $500 less than the first accountant said we would need!) and hoped for the best. To spare the details, what followed was months of back and forth with the IRS, them saying we still owed $1k, us saying we didn't, them agreeing, them taking it back...wash, rinse, repeat. When we finally reached out again, Jennifer and Cindy read through all the months of correspondence with the IRS and personally re-reviewed everything they submitted for us. They confirmed that they stood by their work, explained the tax law behind it, and how and why they calculated the way they did, and that they fully believed we did not owe any additional money. My husband and I made an appointment to speak with a field agent at the local IRS office, armed with their advice and documentation. Even better, Jennifer and Cindy even agreed to be "on call" during our appointment, if we ran into trouble with the field agent! In the end, with Jennifer and Cindy's help, we "won" the IRS and have been cleared of the additional $1k that they were claiming we owed. We could not be happier with their help and advice, and importantly - their strong commitment to their work! You can't ask for better than that - professional in every respect, and they stand by the work they do!
